The Golden Central Coast of Vietnam provides a very broad mix of attractions for tourists. In addition to the picturesque beaches, and first-class resorts with impressive golf courses, there are numerous UNESCO accredited cultural heritage sites along the Central Coast which include the centuries-old port town of Hoi An, which was once an international center for merchants in Asia. You will also visit and explore the former imperial city of Hue. Hue was the home to the throne of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802-1945) and site of the My Son ruins, the spiritual home of the Kingdom of Cham Pa people. French archaeologists refer to this area as the "Valley of Kings."

Along the coast, you will also find mountain retreats, the Vinh Moc tunnels and the natural wonders of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. This trip offers something special for everyone on your journey through Vietnam.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrive Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City - Danang: (-/-/-)

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and escorted to the domestic terminal for your short flight to Da Nang.

You will be warmly welcomed at Da Nang Airport and then transferred to your hotel for check in. During the remainder of the day, you will have ample time for relaxing following your long flight, and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful beach. Your overnight stay will be in Da Nang.

Day 2

Danang Half Day City Tour: (B/L/-)

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and escorted to the domestic terminal for your short flight to Da Nang.

You will be warmly welcomed at Da Nang Airport and then transferred to your hotel for check in. During the remainder of the day, you will have ample time for relaxing following your long flight, and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful beach. Your overnight stay will be in Da Nang.

Day 3

Danang - Hoi An: (B/-/-)

Following breakfast at your hotel, you will take a short journey to Hoi An. From the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An was a major international commercial port for Chinese, French, Dutch, Japanese, Arab and Portuguese traders. These traders came to Hoi An to primarily trade in high grade silk and ceramics, both of which are still produced in the area. Today, Hoi An is a quaint and peaceful riverside town, which is popular with tourists for its architecture, its custom tailor shops, and for its numerous cafes. Many of the buildings along the narrow streets have remained unchanged for more than one century.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter of Hoi An. You will visit the Chinese Assembly Halls, Chua Ong Pagoda, the 200-year-old Tam Ky ancestral house, and also the Japanese Bridge. You will have ample time to shop or relax following your tour. Your overnight stay will be in Hoi An.

Day 4

Hoi An Street Food with Expert in Local Cuisine: (B/L/-)

This morning, you will enjoy your breakfast during a street food tour of Hoi An, with guidance from an expert in local food. You will meet with your culinary expert, Neville Dean, and then visit a local market in Hoi An to enjoy the wonderful sights, smells and flavors of local produce. Then you will walk through the alleys of Hoi An to sample and enjoy local street food as do the local people. During your tour today through Hoi An, you will engage in conversation with Neville and understand his passion for local foods and experience the local culture through the eyes of a returning emigrant. You will meet together at a local restaurant to examine and taste traditional dishes of the region and learn more about this fascinating part of Vietnam. The remainder of your day is free for your further exploration of Hoi An or for simply relaxing. Your overnight stay will be in Hoi An.

Day 5

Hoi An - My Son - Eco Tour in Hoi An: (B/L/-)

Today you will travel west of Hoi Anfor 50km to visit the World Heritage site known as the Cham sanctuaries.

Following your explorations of the ruins, you will travel back to Hoi An. Your trip will take you along rural roads, where you will witness many local simple houses and adjoining rice paddies. You will making a short stop at one of these homes and observe locals making rice paper which is used for preparing spring rolls. Following lunch in Hoi An, you will be met by your local tour and taken to see the round-shaped fishing boats which are operated by local fishermen. You will also have the opportunity to go fishing before returning to your hotel for the evening. Your overnight stay will be in Hoi An.

Day 6

Hoi An - Hue: (B/L/-)

This morning we say goodbye to Hoi An and we proceed northbound up the Central Vietnamese coastline. Your destination for today will be the old imperial city of Hue. Travel time is approximately four hours by car. You will travel over the Hai Van Pass, stopping at the top of the pass to see the amazing views looking north over Lang Co Beach. Following your arrival this afternoon in Hue, you will embark on a tour of the city. You will see such famous sites as the Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial Museum and the Dong Ba market. Your overnight stay will be in Hue.

Day 7

Hue - Phong Nha: (B/L/-)

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will take a journey to Quang Binh. Along the way, you will visit the Vinh Moc underground tunnels, located at one of the most famous battlefields of the American War. You will also witness the famous Hien Luong Bridge, a symbol of the war and the wounds of the Vietnamese people and nation. You will enjoy lunch at town of Dong Hoi, and you will then continue to Phong Nha - Ke Bang. Upon arrival, you will be boarding a boat to travel up the Son River to Phong Nha Cave. You will first enter the cave by boat and then proceed walking 500 meters deeper in the cave. Within the cave, you will have the opportunity to explore the remains of Cham altars and their inscriptions inside. Your overnight stay will be in Dong Hoi.

Day 8

Phong Nha - Hue: (B/L/-)

Following your breakfast at the hotel, you will go kayaking upstream upon the Chay River. During your excursion of about 3km to the meeting point, you will see the many birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and also the endangered monkey (Hatinh langurs) along the way. Once you finish your kayaking trip on the river, you will be picked up by your driver and transported by car to Thien Duong (Paradise Cave).

Paradise Cave was discovered in 2005 by scientists of the British Caving Research Association. The cave has a length of 31 km, which makes it the longest dry cave in all of Asia. The inside of the cave gives the appearance of a landscape painting. Upon leaving Paradise Cave you will then return to Hue and your hotel. Your overnight stay will be in Hue.

Day 9

Hue: (B/L/-)

Following breakfast at your hotel, you will be boarding a private vessel and leisurely cruise upon the romantic Perfume River. As the former ancient capital of the country, Hue is surrounded by many tombs of past emperors. You will visit some of these tombs today. Your first stop will be the enchanting Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda). Your day will continue by cruising further to the ornate Minh Mang's Tomb. You will be enjoying lunch at a local restaurant before you continue to visit Tu Duc's Tomb and Khai Dinh's Tomb. Your overnight stay will be in Hue.

Day 10

Hue - Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City Departure: (B/-/-)

There are no activities planned for today. You may enjoy your free time to further explore the city and shop for souvenirs until your transfer to the airport for your outbound flight. This will conclude our services.
