Following breakfast, we will explore Vientiane by visiting some of the major sights of this capital city; including the oldest temple, Wat Sisaket, which maintains thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and then the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously held the famous Emerald Buddha Image. You will visit the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa and also have the opportunity to take some pictures of the impressive Patuxay Monument, which is recognized as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. This afternoon, we will continue visiting the rest of Vientiane by foot, including visits to Wat Ong Tue, Wat Inpeng and Wat Haisok. We will be walking past the major shopping areas continuing on to the Vientiane Central Market of Talad Sao and Talad Kouadin, where various goods are displayed for sale. Here you will find fresh food, household goods, souvenirs, textiles, gold, silver and antiques. We will then return to the Mekong Riverside in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset. Your overnight stay will be in Vientiane.
